Professional practice in more than fifty institutions

The Faculty has cooperation agreements with teaching bases in Belgrade and other cities across Serbia. Teachers and professionals supervise students during their practice.

During my professional practice, I saw for the first time what working with a child actually involves, from assessment to developing a support plan. What we had learned in practicals only really made sense when I had the chance to work alongside a mentor.

Third-year student, Speech and Language Pathology

The Faculty works with a wide range of teaching bases, including mainstream schools, schools for pupils with developmental difficulties, pre-school institutions, clinics and specialist hospitals, institutes and residential homes, day-care and residential centres, research institutes, associations, non-governmental organisations, private practices, and companies for vocational rehabilitation.

Professional practice is a cornerstone of education at the Faculty and continues throughout the course of study. Through direct work with clients, students develop the clinical and pedagogical skills needed for their future profession.

Direct mentoring

Students work under the supervision of experienced practitioners and Faculty teachers.

Core skills

Practical skills in assessment, developing individual support plans, rehabilitation, and education.

Final professional practice

In the final year, students complete an intensive period of independent work in a real-world professional setting.

During professional practice, students observe professional teams, take part in assessment and treatment appropriate to their level of study, and keep a record of the practice they complete.

Step by step through the studies

Each year carries 60 ECTS, with the programme progressing from the foundations of the profession towards independent practical work.
